Our Ethos
As Busy As A Bee
The Heritage Bee Company are producers of premium, all-natural honey products. We also make beekeeping a possibility through our popular Hive Hosting services. All of our honey is 100% Ontario wildflower honey, sourced from countryside properties that are free from industrial agriculture and are free of pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides.
Through our Hive Hosting service, we take care of all aspects of hive delivery, set up, maintenance, and honey extraction for our clients at their idyllic properties (called "You Host"). Key benefits include premium, raw, unpasteurized. hand processed honey directly from your beehive, personalized honey jar labels, pollination benefits, and supporting your local environment and ecosystems. Plus, knowing that you are making a world of difference for the bees.
Jeff Chalmers and Debbie Gray
Our Founders
Founded in 2016, we are proud to be a family-run local business of professional beekeepers who handcraft and bottle every single jar of honey by hand. From caring for the bees in the field, to extracting honey at our honey house near Creemore, to bottling and labelling each jar, Debbie and Jeff are involved every step of the way. From our local farm to your table. We are affectionately referred to the friendly beekeepers with huge hearts.

Our Story
The Heritage Bee Co. was established after years of longing to get into beekeeping, but not having the time or the space. Shortly after purchasing beautiful countryside property adjacent to the Niagara Escarpment just north of Toronto, wild feral honeybees were discovered living in the hollow of a white pine tree right behind their home. The "bee tree" was the inspiration and catalyst for starting The Heritage Bee Co. Our sweet company has been a certified B Corp since 2017, which means we are committed to using business as a force for good, putting people and planet before profit.
When not submersed in the sweet world of bees and nature, we seriously enjoy travelling, mountain biking throughout Canada and the U.S. (pre-COVID) in our 1976 VW Westfalia campervan suitably named Marigold. At home you'll find us hanging in our gardens with our flock of heritage hens, Rex the Rooster, along with our strapping Maine Coon cats, Zeus and Zephyr.
